How to Assemble a KUMO Lamp in 3 Minutes
AlexShare
Three minutes. That is how long it takes to assemble a KUMO lamp, from the moment you open the box to the moment the switch clicks for the first time. We timed it with six customers in our workshop in Prešov: the fastest managed two minutes and eight seconds, the slowest three and a half. None of them had the instructions in hand.
The package contains three parts: a printed lampshade, a base with an E27 socket, and a fabric cable with a switch. No screws, no hex keys, no polystyrene to throw away. You fit the lampshade onto the socket thread from above and tighten it with your fingers until you feel slight resistance. Do not overtighten, the plastic has its limit and nothing more is needed. It is a matter of feel, not force.
The sequence that works
First, screw in the bulb. E27, a maximum of 7 W LED, warm white around 2700 K, we wrote about that separately. Then fit the lampshade and check that it sits straight, without tilting. Plug the cable into the socket only at the very end, never the other way round. It is a trivial safeguard, but it will save you from a lamp shining straight into your eyes in the middle of assembly.
If the lampshade sticks, do not force it in. Check whether a scrap of wrapping paper is caught in the thread, sometimes a piece of the protective film gets stuck there. Five seconds of work, no drama, no returns.
We designed KUMO so you would not need a manual. If someone reads it longer than the assembly itself takes, we have done something wrong. You will find the whole lamp collection at /products, where you can choose the lampshade color and the cable length.
Three minutes, one click, done. Unpacking the box will take you longer.
