How to Assemble a KUMO Lamp: A Step-by-Step Guide

Alex

Every KUMO lamp leaves Printhia in three parts: the lampshade, the base with the socket, and a cable with two caps, one plain, the other printed with Printhia.sk. Assembly is simple, but the order matters.

What you will need

Just a bulb with an E27 thread and a wattage of 7 W at most. No more than that. Not 10 W, not 15 W: the lampshade is 3D printed from plastic, and a higher load damages it over time. A warm white LED bulb (around 2700 K) is ideal.

Assembly steps

1. Socket and base

If you bought a set with the socket separate, push the socket through the base, the top plastic ring. Turn it until it clicks against the central alignment ring. This ring holds the socket firmly in place and stops it from spinning while you screw in the bulb.

2. Bulb

Screw the bulb into the socket. E27, 7 W maximum. Tighten by hand only, no more than necessary.

3. Lampshade

Fit the lampshade from above over all 4 clips and turn it to the left. It should click firmly into place. If you feel resistance, check that it sits straight: the lampshade must line up with all four clips, not be forced.

4. Bottom cap

The cable cap printed with Printhia.sk goes on the bottom. Slide it onto the cable and push it into place.

5. Done

Plug the cable into an outlet. The lamp is ready.

If something does not fit

A lampshade that will not turn usually has one cause: it is not seated over all four clips at once. Take it off, check its position, and try again. Force will not help here.
