3 Mistakes to Avoid When Designing a KUMO Lamp
AlexShare
The KUMO configurator checks your design before you submit it. The model must be structurally stable, must fit the socket, and must be printable. The system will not let those things slide. What it will let through are aesthetic choices that look completely different on the finished lamp than they did on screen.
After a few dozen orders, we noticed that three mistakes keep repeating. Here they are, along with the fix.
Mistake 1: a lamp that is too tall for the spot. The configurator shows the model in a neutral space with no scale reference. The customer sees a “nice tall cylinder” and confirms. At home they discover the lamp is 15 centimeters taller than their nightstand, and the light shines straight into their eyes instead of onto the wall. The fix: before you submit, measure the spot where it will stand and compare it with the height shown in the configurator.
Mistake 2: a dark color for a bedside table lamp. A black or dark gray KUMO looks stunning in the gallery. In a bedroom with a 2700 K bulb, though, it absorbs light and the lamp shines weaker than it should. If you plan to use it as your main reading light on a nightstand, go for white or beige shades.
Mistake 3: the forgotten cable. The configurator lets you choose a lamp without a switch or with a short cable. Then the product arrives and you have to turn it on from an outlet under the desk. Choose a cable with an inline switch and a length of at least two meters.
All of these things can be fine-tuned before you order. The configurator is open 24/7 through the KUMO catalog, and if you are not sure, send us a photo of the room and we will advise you.
Mistakes that can be fixed in advance do not need a return.
